Our History
SFDC was founded on January 15, 1935, as a men’s club by invitation only. Later, it became an important part of the Deaf community in San Francisco. In the 1970s, our building at 530 Valencia Street became famous for hosting punk rock shows, bringing Deaf and hearing people together.
